Sacred Heart RC Primary School Safeguarding Statement
Sacred Heart RC Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Child Protection Policy which can be viewed in the Find Out/Policies section of our website.
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child's welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with his/her parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child's welfare.
We actively support the Government's Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.
Our Designated Child Protection Officer is Mrs Stinchon (Interim Headteacher). Our Backup Designated Child Protection Officers are: Mrs Warriner (Interim Deputy Headteacher), Miss Carlile (SENCo), Mrs Tiplady and Mrs Gillet. The governor responsible for Child Protection is Mr Michael Maud (Chair of Governors).
A referral can be made by anyone, including members of the public if they have concerns regarding the safety of a child. Within the school, a referral will be made by one of the Designated Safeguarding Leads. If you have any concerns regarding the wellbeing of a child, please call Lancashire Children's Social Care - you can do this anonymously if you wish. Please see details below:
